What We Believe
Our order is committed to living out the Great Commandments of loving God and loving our neighbors. It is the foundation of who and what we are as followers of Jesus and New Monastics. In addition, as an ecumenical order, we profess the Catholic faith of the ecumenical creeds (especially the Apostles' Creed) as these are the common beliefs of most churches.
Jesus’ Creed
“The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength’ [Deut. 6:4-5]. This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself’ [Lev. 19:18]. There is no other commandment greater than these.”
– Mark 12:29-31 (cf. Matthew 22:34-40, Luke 10:25-28)

Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead [or, into hell]. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church [or, universal Church], the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
